Cool Ideas – ********* Billing, Harassment, and Credit Score Threats After Valid Cancellation

I’m absolutely appalled by the way Cool Ideas has handled the cancellation of my fibre service.

I was on a month-to-month contract, and I submitted my cancellation within the required 30-day notice period. Despite doing everything correctly, Cool Ideas failed to cancel my service as requested and continued billing me beyond the agreed notice period.

Worse still, instead of owning up to their administrative failure, they have been completely unhelpful, refusing to resolve the issue, and now they’ve taken it a step further by harassing me for payment and threatening my credit score for charges I should never have received in the first place.

This level of incompetence, dishonesty, and aggressive behavior is completely unacceptable. No customer should be bul**** or financially threatened due to a company’s inability to manage their own cancellation process.

Consumer Warning:

If you’re thinking of signing up with Cool Ideas, think twice. Their billing practices are deceptive, and if you try to leave, you may find yourself being harassed and financially threatened — even if you’ve followed every rule.

Avoid this ISP at all costs.

Reviewer Update
I am highly dissatisfied with how Cool Ideas Service Provider (Pty) Ltd dealt with a disputed charge of R679.00. While I was technically given the opportunity to dispute the claim, the process was overshadowed by a formal notice from their collections partner, Accountability, threatening to list the matter with credit bureaus under the National Credit Act if payment was not made within 20 working days.

Although I considered disputing the charge, the pressure and threat of a negative credit listing left me feeling coerced and forced to pay, simply to protect my credit profile — not because I accepted the validity of the charge.

In my view, Cool Ideas used the credit reporting system as a tool of ************ rather than resolving the matter through fair engagement. This experience was extremely disappointing and raised serious concerns about how they treat customers, particularly when issues arise.
I cannot recommend a service provider that relies on such aggressive tactics to settle disputes.
