ContiSure Warranty is a False Economy

I bought a full set of Continental tyres for my car in December 2017 on the premise that firstly, you're buying a quality product at a premium, but secondly because it came with the ContiSure Warranty, which covers you in the eventuality that the tyres get damaged on the road.

Today I took my car to a dealer as I had a slow puncture. They assessed that the slow puncture was on the inside wall of the tyre caused by a nail and couldn't be repaired, so it had to be replaced.

Luckily, I thought to myself, I have ContiSure! No problem, they quickly assessed the remaining tread on the tyres and gave me a quote with the discounted value of the difference payable for the new tyre.

Now, this is all good and well, however as we all know, you can't just replace 1 tyre, you need to replace the other one as well. This tyre, unfortunately I have to buy at full price. This is somewhat of a false economy from ContiSure as it is standard practice and in my opinion the second tyre should also benefit from the warranty discount, surely!

My advice, don't be fooled into thinking you're getting a better deal because of the ContiSure warranty. You're paying a lot of money for a premium product and if you're happy to pay that, then do so without expecting much more, but don't do it for the sake of the warranty.
