Brand new Continentals really safe on new vehicle? No Warranty?

Hi I have a brand new Renault Clio purchased in December 2018 with 4x new Continental Tyres.

I bought this car because of the 5-Star Safety Rating.

Yet the back left tyre ripped last week.

I now feel totally unsafe due to the risky quality tyres.

And am out of pocket replacing a tyre after 4x months at R1,200.00.

How is this possible that a brand new Continental tyre rips so easily?

I can send photo. ... It ripped on the side whilst driving at 100 on the M13 - I hit nothing...?
