Ms

I've communicated with Consumer Friend many times since Jan 2020 via email with no solution to date. This was stated in my review but there's still a lack of response from them on the RCS matter.

I cannot understand why my review was removed - 48hours has not lapsed with your reply 18th & clearly the issue at hand is still not understood. It is disappointing and poor with the reply from Consumerfriend to take this up as inappropriate. This issue does not lie with RCS but with Consumer Friend.

I need to thank & commend the level of professionalism I've experienced during this time with RCS agents Ashlene & Cindy with their constant communication & guidance. RCS has advised that it lies with Consumer Friend, who needs to contact the Specialized Department within RCS to liase accordingly. Consumer Friend needs to refer to all the emails sent which explains what needs to be done & liased with RCS. Until such time, RCS cannot proceed on this matter, as Consumer Friend acts on my behalf as I'm making payments to them.

I've followed all the steps & processes, yet this still remains a back and forth issue. An outcome was finally proposed to me by Chantel on the 17th June 2020 regarding a 4 month grace period but still without Consumer Friend acting on my behalf to liase with the Specialize department of RCS as it was convey telephonically to me by the RCS agent 5th June.

It's very sad and disappointing as a client to reach this conclusion where there was no consideration to alleviate/adjust the interest rates on my behalf or request due to my affordability and especially during a difficult financial time with the pandemic nor escalate this matter. This has really been mentally & emotionally draining process.

I hereby wish to thank Hellopeter for enabling at least some sort of an alert to be raised.

Reguards Ms.B.Manuel

Good day Brenda S

We refer to your above concerns and can confirm that you were advised already on how the debt review process works.  Our offices have also approached the debt counsellors you app**** with at start of debt review to intervene, who confirmed that they have already explained to you that any proposal regarding debt review interest and instalments, can only be restructured by a registered debt counsellor.

Unfortunately, we are not able to assist you with your request in negotiating a reduced interest rate to our own client RCS, on your behalf and also act for RCS at the same time as this can be seen as conflict of interest.

Should your debt counsellor no longer be in a position to assist you or represent you, we recommend you approach a new debt counsellor to negotiate interest on your behalf or refer to the National Credit Regulator who will recommend one for you.

In terms of the Covid 19 related pandemic, a temporary relief was offered to you in terms of your accounts until 01.10.2020.  Unfortunately, this is the best we can offer you at this stage.  As per the above, you do make mention of a Ashlene and Cindy who advised you that Consumer Friend should act on your behalf.  We kindly urge you to have these agents get in touch with us in order for us to get clarity from their side and resolve the issue.

Best Regards
The Consumer Friend Team
