Unprofessional, negligent

Computer Mania in Canal Walk, Cape Town charge to quote - this does seem a bit extreme to me, regardless of how they justify this, not only that, they charge R360! For a quote! My screen wasn't displaying, and I can only attribute Computer Mania's incompetence, bordering on negligence, to that they were busy. They opened the laptop, couldn't find the issue and "guessed" it related to the motherboard, then advising I do away with the laptop and buy a new one. I picked the laptop up, and then noticed flashing orange lights near the power button, I sat down at a coffee shop, I googled the issue, indicating something to do with the battery or the power cable. I bought a new universal plug for the cable .........voila ! 100% Computer Mania knew I'd bough the laptop from Thailand, I left the universal plug with them attached to the power cable, surely they'd rule these things out first before going to the motherboard. There's no chance I'd be refunded the R360, they'd rationalize their way out of it.
