So far a Zero rating! Let's see if a review/complaint prompts action because nothing else has!

My laptop was handed in for repair at the Somerset Mall Computer Mania store on 4 July 2025.

On 17 July, I was informed that the device had been repaired by a head office technician and returned to the Somerset Mall store for collection. I made the trip to collect the laptop on 20 July, but upon requesting it be switched on before I left - given the lengthy travel - I was shocked to find that the original issue had not been resolved at all. The device was in exactly the same state as when I first brought it in. This indicates it was returned to me without so much as a basic check by your store staff.

To make matters worse, when I expressed my frustration - having wasted an hour travelling for nothing - the in-store technician, Gawie, argued with me about my travel time. This level of customer service is entirely unprofessional and unacceptable.

I requested to speak to someone in authority, only to be told that no management support is available over weekends, even at regional level. Given the nature of your business and the volume of weekend foot traffic, this is incomprehensible.

As a self-employed professional, I rely on my laptop for work. I had already been without it for two weeks at that point. I had also been assured that a loan laptop would be made available, but was told it had been returned to head office. Only after considerable pressure was I given an old, unclaimed repair unit. This is far below any acceptable standard of customer care.

As of today, 4 August, a full month has passed since I handed in my laptop. I’ve now been told the warranty officer, Steven, was off sick last week, and that no progress update is available. While I sympathise with personal circumstances, a professional business should have contingency plans in place. This delay is impacting my ability to earn an income. To be frank, I find the level of service I’ve received from Computer Mania - both at store and head office level - deeply disappointing. I expect urgent attention to this matter and a resolution without further excuses or delays.
