Extremely bad customer service and they evidently don’t know the first thing about computers or how to fix them

<div>This is a complaint about Computer Mania as a whole, but mostly the Eikerstad branch. In the beginning of February I handed my laptop in due to it not charging anymore. The issue was only resolved in the beginning of July. In the beginning of this process I made it extremely clear that it was imperative that I get my laptop back in working condition asap, but this was simply ignored by the branch. I handed my laptop in multiple times because computer mania was incapable of fixing the issue. After handing it in the first time, they told me it would take 3-5 weeks to fix, but I only received my laptop back over 2 months later. They told me they had replaced the motherboard, which I never agreed to, because they never communicated what they were going to do. They left me completely in the dark throughout the entire process, never updated me or told me what the status was with my laptop; whether I had to pay anything; where my laptop was; what they were going to do about the issue etc. Only after accusing the branch of *****ing my laptop did I get a singular response, but this didn’t last and I was left in the dark once again for the remainder of the process. After the motherboard swap, my laptop started having many issues that it never had prior to the swap. It would randomly shut down, the screen would go off and come back on, it would glitch when I pressed certain keys etc. After many phone calls, emails and in person visits, I was put in touch with the head office. Initially, the general manager never responded to numerous emails after weeks of emailing, so I had to phone the head office and someone else took over the matter. That person then went on leave, without referring the matter to someone else to handle, in his absence. Eventually Computer Mania offered to replace my laptop with one worth around 25% less than my original laptop. They really pushed me to take the new cheap laptop, which I did because I wanted the matter to finally be over, but I assume it’s because they don’t actually know how to fix my laptop and have realised that they made matters worse instead of better by changing the motherboard. Computer mania has really made it seem like they don’t know the first thing about computers, customer service, or even their own company policies. Every person I interacted with gave me a completely different story as to what their store/company policies are, and what they are and aren’t allowed/supposed to do. I would never recommend anyone get anything fixed by them, especially if it’s something like a laptop which many people depend on for work, school and further studies. To this day I do not know where my laptop is or whether it is fixable or not. I have also lost all the information on that laptop because it seems they are refusing to give my laptop back to me, for reasons they still have not disclosed.</div>
