Do not waste your time or money at this franchise.
<p>Canal Walk Computer Mania.</p> <p> </p> <p>Bought a Unitek 3-in1 HDMI to VGA converter (as Incredible Connection had none in stock and they suggested I try Computer Mania). Less than 2 months later the connector breaks (tiny part that connects to my laptop). I go to this ******* store with my entire box, proof of purchase and all the parts only to be told i had damaged it. It had also fallen out of it's 10 day warranty period (which by the way is stated NO WHERE). According to the Mighty Computer Mania Lords I had to send this tiny little adapter in to the repairs centre for assessment. The entire purchase had cost me R549 in February and what I'd anticipated for a relatively painless swap out.</p> <p> </p> <p>Apparently that is "not allowed at all as the part is damaged and out of warranty". Yes Reinhard, Mr Manager, I heard you. My only other option is to "buy another one". Fine, how much is another one? I only need one small part. </p> <p>After them telling me it's R150 - they proceed to find a part that costs R299 as the R150 parts were all out of stock. Funny that. At this point i'm laughing at them. I'm beyond shocked at their ability to treat customers this badly, so easily. The packaging on the R299 'last stock' was also open. I ask why this is - they aren't sure - but they'll give me a R50 discount.</p> <p> </p> <p>Reinhard, as the manager of the Canal Walk branch, your style of listening and understanding and trying to build customer loyalty, trust and appreciation is pathetic and shocking. Your branch staff are all unkept and their uniforms look as untidy as their ability to try and appease a customer and quickly remedy a simply situation.</p> <p> </p> <p>Your small minded nature will, i'm sure lead to rands lost. There's a saying: Penny wise, Pound Foolish. You should try and understand what this saying means.</p> <p> </p> <p>To anyone who reads this - PLEASE walk 200m down the passage and head to INCREDIBLE CONNECTION. The teams there area a pleasure to deal with.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
