Bad customer service and poor communication – Computer Mania Worcester
I had a very disappointing experience at Computer Mania in Worcester.
I took my PC in with an inferior graphics card installed and a separate graphics card for repair. When I first brought the graphics card in, I was assisted by a gentleman who tested it and confirmed that it was working but overheating. He assured me that he would do further investigation and attempt to repair it.
Several days passed without any communication from the store. I then went back in person, only to be informed that the gentleman who assisted me had resigned and that they were struggling to deal with the work he had left behind.
Another staff member then assisted me and tested the graphics card again. This time, it did not work at all (no display). I was instructed to purchase thermal pads from Takealot, after which they would service the graphics card.
Once again, several days passed with no communication from Computer Mania. I eventually returned to the store for an update and was told that they could not fix the graphics card, which I understand and accept.
However, when my PC was returned to me, the original graphics card was lying loose inside the case. This is completely unacceptable and shows a serious lack of care and professionalism when handling a customer’s equipment.
When I raised my dissatisfaction regarding the poor communication and customer service, one of the employees responded by saying, “You should have phoned.” This response was dismissive and unprofessional. As a customer, I should not have to repeatedly chase a business for updates on my own equipment.
This level of customer service and communication is truly and utterly unacceptable. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to think twice before making use of Computer Mania Worcester’s services.
