Compcare Wellness Medical scheme- totally useless and questionable

I have been a member of this scheme for over 20yrs- and fortunately never had to use the MedX hospital plan that I am on - until last year for a minor eye surgery. With the eye surgery they told me in writing they would pay a specific amount and then after the surgery did not pay the specified amount. Attempts by myself to rectify this were fruitless - you cant get hold of anyone with authority to speak to - and the people you contact don't get back to you. I am now looking at the scheme outlines for the Medx hospital plan option for 2021 . The brochure they sent me contradicts what's on their website The website excludes knee replacement surgery for example but the brochure for the same plan that they sent me does not- go figure?? In addition you cant find out what the co-payments are for various procedures from their website. I thought maybe I had missed it but a phone call to their offices could also not shed any light on this- so if their agents don't know - how is the public supposed to know? In addition somewhere hidden on their site I came across a rule that if you don't use NetCare hospitals you are in for a minimum of R10000 payment or 30% of unspecified costs???- but on the actual MedX brochure this is not mentioned. Don't be fooled by the woffle on their website , its confusing and evidently designed to hide the real facts associated with their MedX plan - and I would imagine their other schemes. This medical Scheme is poor at best in all aspects - payments - customer service - customer care as well as no clear easy to read and transparent documentation with respect to what your actually paying for - am looking for another Medical Aid - good luck.....
