Communica Does Not Honour warranties

I bought a PIR alarm detector from Communica with a one year warranty. After 8 months it gave a constant false alarm. I sent it back and they say one of the relays has failed and quoted virtually the same price as a new one to repair it. There is no way a failed relay is anything else but a warranty repair.
