Extremely Disappointed with Bad Customer Experience and Misleading Advertising

My experience with Coco Vogue keeps getting worse the more I reflect on it.

On top of the misleading adverti*****t and the shocking, unprofessional response from management, the actual experience itself was extremely unpleasant. The customer service was poor from the moment we arrived—the manager at reception (a white lady) did not even greet us, which immediately set a negative tone and felt unwelcoming.

The air freshener used in the rooms was so overpowering that both of us left with dripping noses, completely ruining what should have been a relaxing environment.

Even more concerning was the condition of the massage oil. The bottle looked dirty and poorly maintained, and the oil had an unpleasant smell. Instead of leaving our skin feeling nourished, it left it dry and brittle—completely unacceptable for a professional service.

To make matters worse, there was a large sign stating that guests are not allowed to use the toilet for a “number 2.” This is honestly unbelievable. Basic facilities are a fundamental expectation, and placing such a restriction on guests is unreasonable and completely off-putting.

Between the lack of transparency, questionable hygiene, uncomfortable environment, and the outright disrespect shown by management, this has been one of the worst service experiences I’ve had.

I strongly advise others to think twice before booking.

Oh and not to forget that After raising a valid and reasonable concern, I was called “uneducated” by management. This is not only disrespectful, but completely inappropriate—especially when you are speaking to a professional with honors.

  • Dear Coco Vogue,
  • I am writing to formally request the immediate cancellation of my booking and a full refund.
  • We are travelling from Johannesburg and will not be in a position to bring our own towels. This requirement was not disclosed at any point in your adverti*****t process. Had this been clearly communicated beforehand, we would have made alternative arrangements.
  • The lack of transparency regarding such an essential requirement is misleading and has caused significant inconvenience. As a result, we are no longer able to proceed with the booking.
  • Given these circumstances, I kindly request an urgent refund of the full amount paid. Please confirm the cancellation and refund process as soon as possible.
  • I trust this matter will be handled promptly and professionally.
  • Yours sincerely,
  • Asanda

Good day,

I would like to clarify my position regarding this matter.

I have no issue with how you choose to run your business, nor with your establishment’s culture or ethos. You are fully entitled to operate in a way that reflects your brand. My concern, however, is that this was not clearly disclosed to consumers upfront.

As a customer, I made my decision based on the information presented at the time of purchase. The key aspects of your establishment’s experience, which you are now emphasizing, were not made sufficiently clear prior to booking. This creates a misleading impression and affects a customer’s ability to make an informed decision.

Please also bear in mind that your business is not the only one offering discounted vouchers. There are many other establishments offering equal or greater value. I chose to support your business in good faith, with the expectation of transparency.

At the very least, an acknowledgment or apology for any unclear or potentially misleading terms and conditions—particularly those contained in the fine print—would be appropriate.

I trust you will reconsider your stance on this matter.

Kind regards,
Asanda
