Would Coca Cola replace damaged label at a shop

Last week I went to our corner cafe and found that someone was labelling 2litre bottles of drinks with various labels of drinks that Coca Cola sells. I reported it to their call centre and was told that it would b passed on to management. A couple of days later I got a call from a guy which thanks me from bringing it to there attention and that they will send a rep out to investigate it. Today I get a call to say that is was their own rep who replaced the labels as they were damaged and it was the most cost effective way to fix the problem. I cannot believe that a global company would tarnage their reputation by changing labels in the public eye of a faulty product. And it was not just one or two bottles it was quite a few of them. I also asked my son if he saw anything as he normally goes there a lot to buy soft drinks and he says that he also saw it happen on a different occasion. My question, would it not just be better to replace the defective bottles than doing this and sowing doubt in the consumers mind as to why drinks are being relabelled at the retail shop. I will never trust buying at this shop again as the explanation just sounds wrong in all levels.
