*******: Reduction in size of bottles/cans without a price reduction and lying to consumers about reasons for reduction.

Coca-Cola has reduced the size of it's 500ml bottles to 440ml and 330ml cans to 300ml. This is the second can reduction as cans used to be 340ml, but were reduced to 330ml in 2007.

The company claims that the reduction has been done to help consumers reduce their sugar intake. This is a blatant lie because, firstly, the price has remained the same even though the consumer is getting less product i.e. Coca-Cola is making more money at the expense of the consumer i.e. A *******. The second reason why this is a blatant lie is because Coca-Cola has reduced the size of its "Zero" sugar-free drinks. If this size reduction is about reducing sugar intake, as claimed by the company, then why are they reducing the size of their sugar-free drinks? This is purely a money making move fueled by greed and lack of respect for the consumer.

I propose that all consumers boycott Coca-Cola products immediately. Expect further reductions in the future.

Hi Sibusiso,

Thank you for your message.

We recently made changes to two packages out of our portfolio of more than 76 beverages, which exist in 36 pack sizes. This is not unusual and we regularly adjust our pricing, packaging and product mix to adapt to market conditions and consumer demands. We apologize that we were not as clear as we should have been about the changes. We could have communicated more extensively to our consumers at point of sale and through the media. Our company remains committed to serving South Africans with the choice of beverages they enjoy.

For more information please contact *** or ***.

Sincerely yours

Calvin.

Generic cut and paste response for all complaints demonstrating their attitude towards this whole situation. Either they have terrible PR or they just don't care. Probably the later. BOYCOTT Coca-Cola products! You can get a 600ml Pepsi product at a lower price than a 440ml Coca-Cola product. Do the right thing.
