Quantity Versus Pricing!
Coca-Cola South Africa are once again changing their bottles!
Last year in 2016 - Coca-Cola brought out a 2.25 Litre bottle. All the retailers pushed the price up to accommodate for the larger bottle... Then early 2017, Coca-Cola stops manufacturing the 2.25 Litre and only continues manufacturing the 2 Litre bottle at the very same price as the 2.25 Litre.
This year, as I am sure the consumer has already noticed, the 500ml bottle is no more... it has now been replaced by the 440ml bottle, at exactly the same price as the 500ml.
Clever marketing or very clever thievery?
Thank you for your message.
We recently made changes to two packages out of our portfolio of more than 76 beverages, which exist in 36 pack sizes. This is not unusual and we regularly adjust our pricing, packaging and product mix to adapt to market conditions and consumer demands. We apologize that we were not as clear as we should have been about the changes. We could have communicated more extensively to our consumers at point of sale and through the media. Our company remains committed to serving South Africans with the choice of beverages they enjoy.
