Poor Service, No Communication, No Service Book
About a year ago I decided to look for a Renault duster. I specifically wanted the diesel 4x4 version and started shopping on the internet for a used one with low kilometers. During this process I happened to find an advert for a 2019 Duster. According to the add it was brand new and the price was reasonable. The ad was from a dealer and not an out of hand sale. I still have the original add . I contacted the dealer, CFM Nissan and Renault in Midrand. The sales person I did business with was called Kemosi. We concluded the deal and the vehicle was delivered to me. Upon delivery it had around 400 km on the odometer. The dealer registered the vehicle as new and as a 2019 model. This was both at the financial institution and the licensing department. I was happy with the car and could find no defects. Trouble started when I took this vehicle for the 15000 km service. As I live in Kroonstad I took the vehicle to the dealership in Welkom. Only then did I realize that there was no service book in the car. The Welkom dealer then informed me that Renault woud not pay for the service. According to them the service plan as well as the warranty had expired and according to the vin number it was a 2016 model. I contacted the original dealer and the service plan was re- instated. I still have no service booklet, no confirmation that the Warranty is now in place. I also still have a 2016 Renault with 2019 papers. What happens when I try and sell this car. There has been major changes between the 2 models . I found this out when I did some further research on the 2 models. Any advice. Deon botha
