CMH Nissan Midrand staff failed me over and over again
- On Monday the 28th August 2023, I get to the car turns the key and the car won’t start, it doesn’t respond at all, like there’s no sign of power at all. I send Karabo a WhatsApp text at 08H14 while also trying to get alternative help. He calls to find out what was wrong and then promises to get help for me and hangs up but while talking to one of his colleagues he accidentally dials my number again and the way he was talking about me was very disappointing. I then managed to get my neighbour to jump start the car, drove directly to the dealership, met with Filly Madolo (used cars sales manager) and Karabo as well, they take the car in to check the battery and the report comes up - Battery to be Replaced, now I have to leave the car behind because there’s no stock on hand only to get the car back on Friday the 01st of September - Never received a job card for the battery to date just an invoice without the vehicles details whatsoever. The invoice is on Karabo’s name.
- This month, not sure about the exact date of the call, called in and booked the car because it has some Squecky Rattlng Noise that I hear mostly when driving very slow, partially accelerating and and with my window rolled down. I brought in the car last Tuesday the 17th October 2023, was attended to by Wandile Ntholeng, she took the car in, offered me a ride home but opted to wait until they could tell me what was wrong with the car. She came to the customer lounge with a technician (I presume) he was holding a deep stick, she then said there was nothing wrong with the car only that the oil level was extremely low. She the asked if they should fill it up for me, I declined and went to the engen filling station just opposite the road.
Yesterday (24th October 2023) I hear the rattling sound again this time around is extremely, I immediately drive back home past engen filling station in noordwk, the attendant checks the oil level and advices that its sufficient but I opt to top it up just to be safe. Drives off and the sound is still the, drives past my home and returns with the hope that it will go away but nothing changes. This morning on my way to the dealership the sound is still there, I meet with Filly and he asks one of the guys to test drive the car and another diagnosis comes up (@Filly kindly explain the advice you received)
My frustrations about this vehicle is that; - I was misled from the beginning when purchasing the car - When bringing up the concerns, I become a nuisance - Being **** to - Being send from one person to the next - Having to spend a whole lot of time calling, sending messages and driving to dealership this frequently, this is just crazy I have lost all faith in the company CMH Midrand and the brand Nissan. NB: Customer care complaint lodged in October 2023 (***)
August 2024, exactly 11 months later. The same battery issue again. Took the car to dealership three times already: 1. Day visit - battery life low, it was about 25% and the I was advised to be it in to be charged over night. 2. Took the car in on Tuesday the 13th and collected the following day. Drove the car on Fri, Sat and Sun. Monday it was parked all day. 3. On the 20th Tuesday morning the car would't start, I took it in. Spoke to the Workshop Manager and gave him a copy of the invoice received in 2023 when the battery was replaced and I was informed that what I had was not an invoice but an estimate signed by the used cars sales manager and the dealer principal. He then said they would take the battery back to the supply for a replacement since it was still under warranty. Wednesday morning around 10h00, I called services depart to check on the progress and was informed that there was no sale record of the battery replacement or the fitment on their records so they can't assist me unless I cover the new costs. I went to dealership and was met with a road block one after next; - I was instructed to call the sales person and his then manager (both of them has since left Nissan) to find out where the battery was sourced from. - Nissan SA customer care said the was nothing the can assist me with since there are no records (***). - I was given the option to buy the battery at cost by the current dealer principal. - The service depart manager suggested that I consult the current used car sales manager in buying the car back from me, he then hand me my car keys and told me to ask the current sales person to jump start the battery when ready to leave. NB: By now I had learned that a new battery was never fitted last year but instead a used one from the cars on the floor was used. Mind you my car was at the dealership for almost 5days waiting for "a new battery" since they didn't have one in stock. - Almost two hours later since my arrival, I went to the used cars sales managers office and he was puzzled to hear that I was handed over the keys with a dead battery because he had instructed the service manager to proceed with the replacement. From here I had to wait another 3 1/2 hours because the battery was not in stock and when they were done with the work I was not informed until I had to ask (16H35) the service consultant who was attending to me and her response was that she had no idea I was still around and had no idea what status on my vehicle.
With CMH Nissan Midrand one has to be physically at the dealer, make your own follow-ups to get assistance. I've dealt with almost all the departments and the customer service culture is pathetic. As for Nissan SA, I can't begin to express the level of disappointment in their service. I guess is the culture of the brand holistically.
