Buying a Nissan Magnite is the worst decision you'll ever make – Severe unresolved factory defect
Buying a Nissan is the worst decision you will ever make—you will be lucky if it doesn't give you endless problems. I have come to realize that so many Nissan owners face continuous issues, and dealing with a factory fault is the single worst nightmare a car buyer can experience. I bought my 2023 Nissan Magnite from CMH Nissan Ballito through salesperson Khulekani Vilakazi. Once the sale was finalized, they completely washed their hands of me, proving that once they have your money, it's "your baby to handle." The car suffers from severe starting failures and battery drainage. It has been taken to three dealerships—CMH Nissan Ballito, Nissan Centurion, and CMH Nissan Midrand—more than three times combined, yet there is zero permanent resolution. Despite replacing the battery three times, I am still constantly left stranded. Being told to simply trade it in is insulting. I believe this is a clear factory fault, yet no one is assisting me. I am utterly devastated and hate this car with all my gut; every single time I get into the driver's seat, I know I'm facing pure frustration. Nissan's service is completely unacceptable and useless. Save yourself the heartache and avoid them entirely.

Shocking Quality of Car and Service
I bought a Nissan Magnite from CMH Ballito in July 2023 and from the beginning I experienced ongoing mechanical issues and extremely poor after sales service. At around 20,000 km the front brake pads had to be replaced, and again around 45,000 km together with both front brake discs. While wear and tear can vary, I have owned and driven many vehicles over the past 23 years and have never experienced this level of brake wear so early. The major issue, however, was the clutch. The entire clutch failed at 69,000 km and had to be replaced. Then, only four months later, the clutch failed again. CMH initially tried to blame my driving, despite the fact that I am an experienced manual driver who does high mileage for work and has never had repeated clutch failures on any previous vehicle. The service department was extremely disappointing throughout this process. Communication was poor, there were almost no follow ups, and my vehicle sat there for weeks with little progress until I repeatedly complained. After the second clutch failure, they offered me a “special discount” but still ended up charging me an additional R4,000 compared to the previous clutch replacement. Eventually, after my car had been sitting there for nearly a month, I had it flat bedded to another mechanic. That mechanic identified the actual root cause: a worn gearbox mount, which had caused the second clutch failure. This was never properly identified by CMH despite my repeated requests for them to investigate why the clutch kept failing. The only person who showed genuine care during this entire experience was Alex, who checked on me while I was waiting in tears for my car to be loaded onto the flatbed. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend CMH Ballito or the Nissan Magnite. The service experience was poor, accountability was lacking, and I was left feeling like the focus was more on charging for repairs than solving the actual problem.

Poor customer Service
Very disappointed in this dealership. Customer check in is very disorganised. Not done in order of who arrives first. Transport is a mess. Would have been quicker to walk home. From time of arrival it has been 1 hour 20 and still no sign of a lift home. Probably going to be here close on 2 hours. They never take calls or even call you back. If there was a zero star I would have selected that. Will probably drive back to my old home town Hillcrest and service there and spend the day there than have to deal with this dealership.

Concerns about the quality and integrity at CMH Ballito
My experience with CHM Ballito was extremely disappointing. The customer service was poor and there was a clear lack of integrity and accountability throughout my interaction with the branch. Communication was unprofessional and issues was not resolved as promised. I expected far better service and transparency from a reputable dealership - unfortunately, CMH Ballito fell short on both.
