WORST BRANCH IN SOUTH AFRICA
If I could do anything right in this life, it's to be able to tell others to avoid this **** branch. Worst service and worst attitude when it comes to repairs.
I brought my car in, during March for an issue where my petrol tank gauge was not displaying that my tank was full and that the car struggled to start without pushing down on petrol when starting it up.
After the second day after handing my car in, I had to call every day for the next 5 days to follow up. Eventually, I came into the branch demanding answers or anything other than "your car is being assessed" to find that my service provider went on leave on the second day and everyone in the branch failed to follow up on her clients. WILD. R14 000 later, I got my car back. Thinking they knew exactly what was wrong, this branch replaced my petrol tank, and a fuel sender and 2 or 3 other parts that were not declared faulty.
The second issue was not resolved so I brought it back and told them that it was the fuel injector. My boyfriend could pick that issue up in 30 minutes but they couldn't pick it up with a R900 test nor a 7 days inspection.
At this point, the manager tells me he's going to sort out my car and that he know's it isn't the fuel injector and that I'm probably wrong. They charged me for ANOTHER diagnostic fee. The manager also assured me that he would call me the following day at 07:00 to tell me if it is the fuel injector or not but he promised me he'd called that very morning to let me know what's going on. The following day at about 16:45, after no messages or calls, I called him. "Oh so it is your fuel injector", he says.
Frustrated, I ordered another fuel injector through the branch and got it put in somewhere else. They charged me labor once again and charged me for the part and when I refused to let them put the part in for me and charge me more, they said I'm going to break the car and the part needs to be installed with some computer. It was actually a "plug n play" part so not sure if they were trying to get me to keep it there by lying. This entire 2-week process cost me around R18 000, so you would think it's over now and we can all move on.
5 months down the line, my petrol gauge is completely broken and I can't see how my petrol is in my car, but hey, at least my fuel injector is just fine. Called my service provider last week, rude and didn't listen to my issue other than telling me I must go for a diagnostic test. Called the branch twice in the last week to get my records of what's been replaced, get put through to "the right person" for about 11 minutes before being sent back to the receptionist asking me "who is it that I'm looking for". It.is.a.hot.mess.
Maybe I got the wrong SP, or maybe the Manager was having a bad week or maybe both but don't be surprised if your car becomes neglected at the Ford Branch in Hatfield.
