Pathetic Client Service

On Wednesday 28 September, I contacted Thekwini Toyota Pinetown (the place I purchased my vehicle) and advised them that the central locking and electric window unit is faulty on my car. I was advised that both would be covered under my warranty, and that I should take the vehicle to a Nissan dealership near me (in Gauteng).

On Thursday, 29 September 2016, I contacted CMH Nissan Sandton. I advised the person that I would like to bring my car in for a service on Friday, and I also advised the person of the faulty electric window unit and central locking, which needs to be replaced under the warranty. Everything was arranged and scheduled for Friday.

Friday morning I dropped the car off at CMH Nissan Sandton, and I explicitly mentioned to Bennie Smit that he should check the car's window, as well as the central locking problem on the car. Once again I also told Bennie that the repairs should be covered under the warranty.

Bennie arranged for the driver to drop me off at work, and the arrangement was that they would come collect me at work once the car was finished.

By 15:00 I still hadn't received a phone call to say that my car is finished. I phoned Bennie and he advised me that they had just finished the car, and their driver will come collect me. Half an hour later, one of the drivers phoned me and confirmed that he is coming to collect me in 15 minutes. Another half an hour later, I received another phone call (this time a different person) and he said he is stuck in traffic and will be delayed. Ten minutes later Bennie phoned me to ask if I cannot take a taxi to their branch to collect the car, to which I advised him that this is impossible, and I will rather wait for their driver to reach me. Seven minutes later another person phoned and said he will bring my car to my work, provided that I can drop him off at his house in Ennerdale (which is completely out of my way). I advised him that I am unable to do that because I do not know the area well and I already have plans for the evening. To which this person responded "Well, you decide."

Finally, another driver managed to deliver my car to my work, and I ended up dropping him off at his house. By this time, it was 18:00.

Firstly, I do not appreciate the attitude of the driver in saying "Well, you decide". All the arrangements were made on Friday morning, and it is not my fault if CMH did not stick to the arrangements.

Secondly, my car was serviced, however neither the central locking or electric window problems were fixed! Nothing regarding this matter was communicated to me - all I saw was a quotation for both parts in my service book. This is poor customer service, as I have no idea now whether I should obtain authorisation from the warranty, or if CMH had already tried and was declined.

This is extremely inconvenient, as should the repairs be authorised from warranty, this now means that I once again have to make special arrangements to take my car to CMH. This is not always easy, considering that I have a full-time job.

I would not recommend CMH Nissan Sandton to anyone! They have absolutely no idea what customer service is.
