not providing full details on hire purchase up front re insurance

bought a second hand car everything went fine then on the last minute I get told to provide details of my insurers ..... why wasn't I asked this at the beginning because I have always bought cars for cash and never had insurance except once on a small opel corsa, and in that case the dealer handled the insurance for me. so at the last minute I am phoning around for insurance and get told that I must take the car to glassfit nearest branch pinetown ...... I live alone and my dad has just been placed in an old age home and do not have time to go chasing around into the middle of pinetown where by the way I was attacked ****** and ****** some time ago so I wont go there as I have to go alone - this should have been explained to me at the beginning of the deal not right at the end. I have told the dealership Pammy govender that she must sort this out and get someone to take the car to Pinetown because I am not doing it and once this is done and sorted she can give me a call and tell me everything is sorted. I wish people would get things into perspective and explain all these things beforehand and not leave it till the last minute, I have been driving for 40 years and never had an accident and never been involved in one and as I am self employed and bought my last car for cash I didn't get insurance on it - sort this out
