Newton’s new Law of Gravity as defined by CMH East Rand

<p>On Saturday morning the 14th of January 2017 my wife’s Chevrolet Cruze had a breakdown. The engine was revving but the car refused to pick up speed. I parked the car on the side of the road to see what was going on, only to see oil below the car. AA took the car to CMH Boksburg, where all the services from 15 000km were done. The car is now on 92 000km and the guarantee is until 120 000km.</p> <p>On Monday morning I went to CMH East Rand only to be told by the receptionist that they have 48 hours to start working on a car that was brought in by AA. I then threw my toys out of my cot and demanded to see Mr McCarthy, the dealer principal. The service at CMH East Rand is so poor that I demanded 7 times in 3 years to speak to the dealer principal. At every occasion the receptionist blocked me immediately saying that he is too busy and that I should come back in an hour or so to see whether he is available. With two Chevrolet Cruzes in the family and the poor service received from CMH East Rand, the Dealer principal was nicknamed ‘the ghost’.</p> <p>After waiting a few minutes, the receptionist took me to the Dealer principal where the workshop manager Mr Abie Smith was also present. After trying to explain the history of poor service from CMH East Rand, it was brushed aside to focus on the current problem. “The ghost” and his service manager asked me to wait and they will then have a look at the car. I made it very clear that I expect a courtesy car after all the poor service over the past three years. After 20 minutes they called me to show the car which was hoisted. Now here comes the biggest far-fetched lie that you ever heard. I was told that the car battery leaked and damaged the plastic of the gearbox. This caused the problem that the battery acid ate the plastic of the gearbox and that is why my claim was declined and I have to pay for the fixing of the gearbox.</p> <p>On 1st October 2014 I had a battery fitted by Battery Centre Springs. In mid-December I had to replace the battery again but not through Battery Centre. The battery that “leaked” was then obviously removed. When I contacted Battery Centre Springs, they informed me as follows:</p> <p>1. Batteries are sealed and the only time that is possible for a battery to leak is under extreme heat.</p> <p>2. If this happens, which is very unlikely, the battery will show signs of leakages. I was present when the battery was removed and there were no signs of a battery leakage.</p> <p>3. If there was a battery leakage, the acid will eat away the container which holds the battery and the items below it. There are no such signs of any battery leakage in the car.</p> <p>4. The law of gravity dictates that acid will move downwards and not sideways to the gearbox without leaving any trace on the rest of the car.</p> <p>Chevrolet is known for their gearbox problems and the fact that any excuse will be found not to repair under guarantee. I have received a verbal quotation for R44 800 to fix the gearbox.</p> <p>It is suggested that General Motors South Africa patent the new law of gravity that makes acid move sideways to the gearbox without leaving any trace on the rest of the body of the car.</p> <p>This is the most pathetic excuse for declining a warranty claim ever. I expect a courtesy car and General Motors to accept the claim within 48 hours or I will go public on this pathetic excuse to decline the claim.</p>
