Disgruntled and very unhappy client

I am sharing my experience to warn potential purchasers against CMH Volvo Fourways.

My work requires me to be on the road, my primary source of income, and therefore it was important for me to buy a vehicle, at a reputable dealership and ensure that I am covered should my vehicle have any mechanical problems or need repairs.

This was my instruction to the sales representative, accommodated by two witnesses who can confirm this. I was informed that my requirement would increase my quoted purchase amount. It gave me peace of mind and I proceeded with the purchase and my finance application.

During the first week of February 2024, I encountered problems with my vehicle and booked it in at BMW Centurion where, since I purchased the vehicle, all my services were done.

I received an invoice for the repairs (which amount is close to purchasing a small vehicle) and immediately referred it to Trafficc. They declined my claim and was their reason for repudiating my claim that the vehicle was modified. I was referred back to the Seller, CMH Fourways.

I never modified anything on the vehicle since I purchased it nor was I informed that the vehicle they offered me was modified.

Having viewed the purchase order, with the maintenance/insurance plan, that I paid for, no prior vehicle modifications were specified in the vehicle description nor disclosed to me.

As a consumer, who was clear on my requirements, CMH’s “regulated representative” failed to disclose very important information to me. If disclosed, I would not have bought the vehicle.

After daily follow-up attempts, it took them four weeks to inform me that they would not take any responsibility for repairing my vehicle.

CMH is now hiding behind terms and conditions. I trusted their representative and in good faith purchased the vehicle.

My experience:

1. Terrible response time. 2. Depriving me of earning an income. 3. The Dealer Principal, Shaun Van Der Merwe, did not even suggest a mutually beneficial solution for me to consider.

I am now without a vehicle. I will not recommend anyone to purchase a vehicle from them. This whole experience left a bad taste and am I truly disappointed.
