CMH Cape Town Took R22,341 for a Proton Part and 4 Months Later I Have Nothing
On 11 February, I ordered a TCU module for my Proton through CMH Cape Town and was required to pay the full amount upfront, which I did – R22,341.
I was advised that the part would take approximately 30 days to arrive. Since then, I have followed up numerous times and was repeatedly told that the part was “on the way” or that they were still waiting for feedback.
Today is 15 June – more than 4 months later – and I still have neither the part nor any meaningful update.
When I finally called demanding answers, I was politely informed that Proton is no longer under the CMH brand. However, nobody could tell me where my part is, who is responsible for the order, or who I should contact. To make matters worse, I was simply given the same telephone number that I had already called.
This is completely unacceptable.
CMH accepted my order, took my money, and processed payment into their bank account. The fact that brand representation may have changed is not my problem as the customer. I paid CMH for a part that was promised within 30 days, and over four months later I have absolutely nothing to show for it.
I am now:
* R22,341 out of pocket * Without the part I paid for * Without any answers * Being passed from person to person with no accountability
At this point, it feels as though responsibility is simply being shifted while the customer is left carrying the loss.
I demand that CMH senior management urgently investigate this matter and provide one of the following immediately:
1. Delivery of the TCU module that was paid for in full; or 2. A full refund of R22,341.
Four months without a part, an update, or a solution is unacceptable. I expect a response from someone empowered to resolve this matter rather than another excuse or referral. This situation has gone far beyond poor service and requires urgent intervention.
