PAYING FOR WARRANTY REPAIR

On the 26 June 2019, my car went in for a very miner repair keeping in mind that the car is still under warranty.

The car that I drive is a Eco Sport and the fault was that the boot door did not open it was locked shut even when the car was unlocked. After some research and speaking to people, I found out that it's a common fault with this car.

My wife booked the car in on the 26 June 2019 at Ford Hatfield, I then later got a phone call saying that the car was ready for collection, keeping in mind that it's still under warranty.

When my wife went to collect the car they told her that she had to pay an amount of R977. 00 for the repair.

My issue is why must i be charged and pay for a repair on a car that is still under warranty? And no one sent me a quote for the repair, they just fixed it and I had to pay. When my wife asked what they did they said the just hooked the cable back in that had come loose.

This is not right, the car is under warranty and should of been fix under warranty. Why did they not phone me first to let me know that I had to pay for the repair and send me a quote?

This needs to be investigated, I feel that they ordered a part that they did not use and are making me pay for it to cover the cost of that part.
