False advertising.
I bought a Clinique Pop Longwear lipstick at Truworths, The Grove, Pretoria 2 weeks ago. With a voucher I received for my birthday. Clinique claims it is 'longwear' which is supposed to last 5-8 hours. I confirmed this fact with the salesperson because to pay R500 for a lipstick which does not perform is ludicrous. However, the lipstick did not last 20 minutes on my lips. I tried every way, on dry lips, moisturised lips, did not drink or eat anything, but alas, no luck. I have R50 lipsticks which performed better. I went back to Truworths to complain but because the 'box' which the lipstick came in was damaged (it was in my handbag), they will not refund me. I had to open the box to get the lipstick out, so yes, the box is damaged. I find this shocking, it is absolutely false advertising and should be sold as a lipice instead and definately NOT for R500.

Clinique: Incorrect items delivered
I purchased items on the mother's day special to receive a 30% discount. The incorrect items were, however, delivered to me and Clinque was unable to assist in providing me with the correct items. I received no e-mail communications regarding my query and had to contact customer services continuously to follow up. Eventually I was promised a refund which I have not received to date.

Love the product, hate the service
I have used clinique products for years, but their website and their service has me looking elsewhere. Trying to submit payment on their website is insanely difficult. I shop online regularly, I have enough funds, I have cards that are set up correctly. A few months back I had issues and their customer service reps gave me the runaround, eventually insisting that it was an issue with my bank./ I eventually figured it out for myself: my profile and my bank card had different surnames so once I made them match, all worked perfectly. They didn't seem to know that. This time round, everything matches, but I tried repeatedly, at different times of the day, to get my order confirmed before a major special offer expired. Nothing I tried worked. And of course you cannot get hold of them by any means. No email address - you must call or use live chat. The number they insist on their website is on whatsapp, does not exist on whatsapp. When you call it you're told it's out of their hours but please use live chat to prevent having to call again. Sounds helpful, right? Except the live chat tells you it's outside of operating hours so come back later. Absolutely impossible to make a purchase. Clearly not eager for business as their customer service is non-existent and they make it as difficult as possible to contact them. Sort out your website with correct information! (Oh, and this won't reach them as the business isn't claimed and there is NO EMAIL ADDRESS that can be added. What business operates without any public email address? So basically just a vent for myself.)
