Clearscore is not reliable

My credit rating on clearscore is 417 whereas on Mycreditcheck is 616. Clearscore does not update accounts as they should

Hi Lizo, Thanks for your message. Experian (our data provider) has acquired Compuscan and currently hosts two data platforms. The Experian data platform (the data you see on your ClearScore report) and the Compuscan data platform have now been rebranded as Experian Sigma. While the name has changed, the data and the consumer score have remained the same, and each platform has a dedicated self-service website, which we'd encourage you to check out for more information:  The reason why the score on your my credit check (Compuscan) report differs from the ClearScore (Experian/my credit expert) is that:
  1. The date the report is generated
  2. The formulas, variables and weightings used to create the scores are different.
  3. Datasets and information on the bureaus could differ based on each platform's loading and validation rules.
  4. The Experian Sigma platform has a 2-year display period, while the Experian platform has a 3-year display period.
It's also important to remember that all credit bureaus develop scoring models with different ranges. This means a user will receive different scores depending on the bureau from which the score is requested. There is no single score for a consumer in South Africa. I hope this answers your query. Many thanks,  Zara
