Incompetence
My vehicle was ****** on 25 September 2017. It was recovered within 2 hrs with mainly damage to the dashboard. Discovery dragged their feet in getting the vehicle released/moved/assessed. It eventually made it to CK Couchworks in the middle of November. CK then only realized a few weeks later that a part had to be imported from Japan. The part arrived here at the end of Jan. Every time CK realises that another part has to be ordered. I've not heard from discovery in months. No Courtesy car. No customer service. Next week will be 5 months without the vehicle. In the meantime I'm having to pay my insurance and finance installments.
1. Client’s vehicle Toyota Fortuner was booked in at CK Coachworks Retreat on Tuesday, 14 November 2017.
2. Parts were ordered on the same day i.e. 14 November included a battery cable, ignition barrel and key, door barrel and key, upper and lower dash.
3. The parts arrived on the following days:
§ 18 November 2017
§ 27 November 2017
§ 5, 14, and 26 December 2018
4. On Thursday, 16 November 2017, vehicle went in to Toyota SA for a mechanical check. It was determined that the vehicle required a loom which had to be imported from Japan and would take approximately 21 working days.
5. The client was informed on Tuesday, 5 December 2017 that we (CK Coachworks) were still awaiting an ETA (estimated time of arrival) from Toyota.
6. We received feedback from Toyota on Monday, 11 December 2017 advising that the loom would only arrive on 25 January 2017 and this was a proposed date.
7. We contacted Toyota on Thursday, 11 January 2018 to request feedback on the specific part and were told by the manager of Toyota SA that the part would now arrive on 30 January 2018??
8. When the part eventually arrived, our service adviser Illana called the client to advise that a second part to the loom had to be ordered. Toyota SA failed to inform us of this indiscretion.
9. Monday, 5 February 2018, the wiring sub Assay arrived and was fitted. It was then discovered an AUX cable was also required. The aux cable reached CK premises on 9 February but was noted to be an incorrect cable for the vehicle.
10. Illana again called the client on 12 February and informed her of the incorrect part delivered.
11. It was then discovered that a radio wire was required when Allan fitted the aux cable. Left front wire available but right front wire on back order (21 Working days as per stores)???
12. The ignition housing another additional which was ordered on 16 February 2018 arrived Monday, 19 February 2018. Willem informed the client on the same day. The client was satisfied with the feedback given.
13. Client was informed by CK Coachworks 20/02 vehicle returned from Turn A Key and in the assembly bay. Client is happy with the updates.
We at CK Motor Group would like to extend our sincere apologies for any inconvenienced caused to the client.
