Misled and charge
I started staying at city property buildings steyns place in a 1 bedroom since 2011 as a student. I had a monthly renewable contract which i decided to cancel end of August 2017 because the rental was getting too much.
I app**** for a smaller flat which was approved but I was still told that my old flat had a damaged carpet and they would charge R3000 to replace the whole carpet. I spoke to Zweli one of the sales people saying that if they take all my deposit to pay my flat i won't be taking the bachelor flat. He said he'd discuss with the managers if I can keep my deposit which he came back to me and said it was fine.
I signed a new contract for a bachelor flat for one year. I moved in to a flat which also had a patched carpet. The property manager Cindy Baker said to me that they were not aware of the patched carpet. Cindy Baker however still continued to charge me for the damages of R3000 for the previous flat even after our initial agreements.
I decided to move out and they also charged me cancellation fee which is a full month rental. I also haven't received a penny from my deposit.
