Lease cancellatioN

I put In a lease cancellation notice on the 7th of December 2015 and even called to and confirmed that I won't be paying any cancellation fee since my contract will be expiring on the 9 of January 2015 it wasn't supposed to be a problem even with the 20 days they say you need to put in a notice, now to my surprise I got an invoice saying I have to pay R4700 and I called in to inquire about this hence I spoke to Jamie and she said there won't be anything I'll have to pay in except rent for the nine days of January but I was redirected to Gadifele who selfishly defended her department against that Jamie's words and she said there is nothing she can do if I need to do something I must discuss it with Jamie's manager I then asked her if they going to change anything if I speak to the manager and she said as far as she is concerned the will be a cancellation fee. I told Gadifele that to my eyes you are all city property reps and this was your mistake and you need to fix but to my surprise she kept on saying it was call centres error and they need to fix but the fee must be paid ????
