Gross Incompetence or Pure Aversion?!?
Either City Property staff are grossly *********** or they are aversive to foreigners/Nigerians. I started my application for Ricci's Place housing on the 19th of January 2021 at the City Property office at Loveday Johannesburg. Karyn Sevume was my Deal Maker. I was asked by Karyn to provide a surety's ID and a three-month bank statement because I am on a scholarship. I asked Karyn if these are the only documents required of me and also if I could provide my parents ID and statements for the surety purpose, she rep**** affirmatively. I got my parents to send me these documents from Nigeria and i submitted them (alongside my Passport biodata page and scholarship offer letter) to City Property on the 20th only to be told that they do not want Nigerian IDs and statements for surety purposes, that I should get someone in SA to provide me with these documents.
I got my friend to provide these documents for me and went to submit them on the morning of the 21st, Karyn told me that I would be needing my surety's payslip as well (payslip for surety purposes!?!). I was in the process of getting my friend's payslip when Karyn came with the so-called "bad news."
She told me that out of the two apartments I was applying for at Ricci's place, one was already being app**** for by someone else and the other already taken. I looked at the vacancy list for that very day being the 21st of January and those two apartments were still on that list! I don't know what to make of this: gross incompetence or pure aversion??
