Day Light Robery
I stayed at unit 0521 Kerk Street in Johannesburg for more than a year (March 2013 - November 2014). Firstly I was never refunded my deposit after submitting my notice 2 months prior, apparently because I didn't honour my contract, I mean ***? I stayed at city prop flats all my life and always been refunded after staying morethan a year, what changed now? FineI let that one go, but what is ****ing me off completely now is that, 4 months after moving out, I received a call from a lady from city property saying I owe them more than R4000 for paintings done, what for? When I stayed there the building manager was always quite impressed with the condition of my flat, even when I left he inspected it and was quite happy with it (except for few stains on the wall caused by wall pics). So taking R3800 of my deposit was not enough, now you want more money from me? This is pure ******* from city property, just because you are big and have all the expensive legal representatives that money can buy doesn't mean you have to treat the very same people who keep your ship floating like dirt. Been using city property for more than five years and this is the thank you I get from them? IT IS NOT FAIR
When you signed the lease agreement for your unit, it was for a fixed term, and unfortunately your notice was in breach of this fixed term, therefore you were charged a penalty fee. This was explained to you when you submitted your notice, and as per your lease agreement, you needed to keep the unit clean, and have been charged for the reinstatement of the unit in a lettable condition for the next tenant. We tried to clean the walls, but unfortunately you could still see the stains caused by your pictures you hung on the wall, and subsequently we needed to paint the walls, and charge you accordingly. I suggest you contact your Credit Controller and make the necessary arrangement to settle your debt.
