City property want me to pay for rent for the month i wont be occupying their property and we have serve more 21 days notice
<p>Good day Sir/ Madam</p> <p> </p> <p>I would like an assistance from you. City property wants me and my flat mate to pay rent for the month we will not be occupying their property. The reason for that is that me and my flat mate had signed different termination forms and submitted them together with affidavit of which it was in septembter 2016 and the last day of occupying their property is 30 November 2016. So they told us that we need to complete one form of which we did however they say they wont consider the forms we submitted which were more than 21 days as per their policy .So now they are forcing us to pay rent for the month of december. However we have comp**** with their policy though we signed different form. Could you kindly assist in this instance because it is unfair for us because all along they had our notice to vacate their premises.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>

As per information from the office the correct notice of cancellation form was only submitted on 12/11/2016 where both of the legal tenants signed and agreed on the vacate date.
As per your lease agreement it is required to submit 20 business days written notice. You are also not being held liable for a month's rental, but a pro rata amount for 9 days, counting 20 business days from the date we received the correct notice of cancellation.
With the first notice of cancellation you were not in agreement on the vacate date and for this reason we could not accept either of the 2 notices we received, as it had different vacate dates.

My flat mate came last week friday to request the termination i submitted during september so that she can sign however one of the city property employees misplaced the form and we were forced to resign another form of which it looks we both signed late. City property knew all along that we are moving out and it is also mentioned on the affidavits which is the legal documents if there is any disputes between parties.
