CITY PROPERTY, THE FIELDS CREDIT CONTROLLER ***** AND DECEIVING!! WATCH OUT

Hello Peter! I don't usually do this, it's a first for me. City property's credit controllers are deceiving, ********* and insensitive to their customers. Charmaine van Reenen from The Fields student accomodation in hatfield to be more precise. That women made my rental experience with city property stressful and disconcerting. She has absolute no respect for customers, shouts in their ears and tells them straight on how much she does not care about what you as a customer have to say. She won't give you a chance to speak, very rude. Such people give City property a bad name . This is what happened to me...

I started staying in a 2bedroom with a mate in Feb at D-block. Rent was R8400 , of which we had to split the amount. Around the 3rd week my mate was accepted at res and moved out. I was then told I had to reapply as it was a joint lease . In March I then reapp**** for a flat at BC which was R6300 , had a mate again which was also sponsored by NSFAS . We both contributed R3150 for rent. My bursary was overpaying at R4200 . That's a R1050 extra. There came a point where my mate and I didn't get along as her boyfriend came often and spent 1-2 weeks at our place. We got into a fight one time , where charmaine called me to her office. She said she didn't like what was going on and that I should find a place to stay and move out and that she's canceling my contract with immediate effect. I then told her I'll move month end as it was around 7th july if I'm not mistaken. She insisted that move asap claimed I was eligible to stay alone as my funder was overpaying anyway.

So I checked the list of other apartments and found one at A-Block. I reapp****... As usual application fee was R950, I was paying this amount for the 3rd time. Called my bf to help me move and explained the situation to him and so he stated that she can't do that as it's a contract .I said I wasn't going to fight her (charmaine) about it . The flat I moved to was R5100. I signed my new contract with her, We discussed that she would transfer july's rent into my new account ,including the extra payments that were made (R1050 extras).

Months went by then she calls me to her office to ask me why I wasn't topping up my rent . I reminded her that she had to make transfers of the extra rent money from my funder. She then checked on her computer and asked me why I owned 2 apartments. I stated that I only owned one, which was the one I was currently staying at. She then said this means the girl is still occupying that flat in BC, one she insisted I move out of asap. She then went on to say she would call her and tell her to move out of the flat or reapply for her own .

A week later I go do a follow up with her to check if she has made the necessary transfers , she still hadn't made any . I went again to follow up she still hadn't made any transfers. She then requests that I go to ask George for a letter stating that she can make transfers from my old account to my new one . I then went to Georgs office the following day on campus , explained the situation to him and request the letter . He said it was not even necessary for me to come request a letter .he said I should tell charmaine that a letter is not necessary and that she should just make the transfers as the money belongs to me . Went to give her the response and left . 2 days later I go to do a follow up and she says shes going to a meeting and I should come the following week. So the next week I went , she then requests that I make a payment of R505 into the old account BC flat so that she could be able to make the transfer and that she would refund me . So I made that payment immediately after that conversation. Fast forward to beginning of December ,I go to her office to do a follow-up, she then tells me that I must make payment and that the transfer thing is not going to work!! I ask why, she says the money was used up for water & sewages payments and that there's no money to transfer. This was shocking to me because after all the ups and downs of follow ups she has been dodging me or making excuses of going to meetings. So I tell her I won't make any payment as my funder strictly pays for send and not utility bills. Of which a utility bill and rent are different things , she said to my face that she doesn't care about that and that it's not her problem . After telling her I wouldn't make payment she said I must then move out of that flat and that she was going to issue me with an eviction note. Feeling helpless and in destress i went looking and found a place , it was on the 4th December that I had to move but couldn't because I didn't have the furniture letter to get my stuff out, their office was not operating that day. On the 5th in the morning I go to her office and asked her if this matter wouldn't affect me in any form creditwise and being blacklisted...she said it wouldn't , and reassured me that it would not and that I should focus on getting out of the flat. I then got the furniture letter and got help from friends to move out .

Since then,City property keeps sending me sms that I owe them and the amount keeps increasing month by month. Two months ago I've tried contacting your office, tried your WhatsApp ... Had a chat with Zanele whom said an agent would give me a call but still nothing. I had charmaine contact me via email and said she would fix the amount I had to pay, which was the 4 days that I had stayed in December. Till now, this matter has not been solved and I have not gotten my R505 refund .
