City Property is tricking clients into signing contracts without disclosing all the necessary information....!!! Poor service from agents
One thing I hate so much is when companies fail to disclose their contracts...!!!! Once you make someone sign a contract without informing them of all the pros and cons of the contract automatically that contract is invalid because it's signed under misrepresentation. City property is very good at this, I took up a lease not knowing that the cancelation fee is the same as rent, with other leases we all know it's 30 day notice in order you not to get penalized
I was a new client and if I was not it would've made sense because I would've been aware. The rental tribunal failed to help me as well its like they have connections with these people, it's sickening what they do to their clients. I honestly wouldn't recommend anyone to contract with them
When a person signs a contract with any company they acknowledge that they have read and understood the terms and conditions of the contract. Our lease agreement contains all the information you are referring to as not being disclosed, in fact it states in clause 19. that you will be liable for 2 months rent should you cancel your lease before the lease expiry date and that is why the Rental Housing Tribunal ruled in our favour. We charge our tenants who fail to abide by the terms and conditions of the lease agreement with only 1 month's rental as a cancellation fee.
The Rental Housing Tribunal is very fair towards all their clients, specifically tenants who report Landlords treating them unfairly according to the lease agreement, the Rental Housing Act and the Consumer Protection Act.
You should have received a copy of your signed lease agreement and I urge that you please go back and refer to clauses 4 and 19 for the relevant information.
Kind Regards,
