Rates and taxes account no closed on sale

I sold a property in 2022, but the rates and taxes account was not closed. I have emailed and called numerous times to correct the error, but nothing was done. Now they are sending letters of demand claiming the rates and taxes for the last two years. On every occasion I contact them but get no response.
