Daylight Theft by the City of Tshwane Municipality

The City of Tshwane owes me my deposit refund of nearly R2000 since closure of my account in 2018. After submitting countless queries via email and on the online portal and copying various support agents in, even the Mayor's office since the new Executive Mayor, Cllr. Randall Williams has taken over recently, the Tshwane Municipality has to date still not responded, although I continue receiving monthly State of the City Addresses and Media Statement from the Office of the Executive Mayor.

How many years does one have to beg the Municipality to repay what is duefully owed to an honest tax paying citizen. This is theft!

I had on numerous occasions attached all the necessary reconciliation and tax certificates and supporting documents and have still had no success even after contacting the Mayor's office directly.

After many failed attempts to reach anyone at the Tshwane Municipality via email, online or telephonically, and with the Conveyancing Attorneys Zyl's Attorneys who handled the cancellation, reconciliation and tax certificates of our Municipal account in August/September 2018 after the sale of our property, confirmed that they are not able to access the Municipal offices to query this refund request on my behalf, I demand that this matter is handled with urgency.

After attempting alternative steps to access support via the online route instead with the hopes that I succeed to finally receive my deposit refund back from the City of Tshwane I am now finally at a dead end as my old account number is no longer registered on the Tshwane e-portal.

As an upstanding South African citizen, I demand that the City of Tshwane Municipality and authorities in power take responsibility and the accountability to solve this matter as a matter of urgency. I am not interested in receiving monthly Mayoral Statements and Updates as I am no longer an account holder with the Tshwane Municipality!
