City of Tshwane, a sorry excuse of a Municipality!

So, I have been a resident at the Stone Ridge area in Centurion, under the municipal umbrella of City of Tshwane for almost 3 years now.

If my memory or knowledge is of any great service to me, the South African country has been cleared of the dark cloud of load-shedding in the electricity realms for over a year now, but what country the Stone Ridge area of Centurion falls under remains in doubt as we seemingly get a very different and unfair share of cold days and dark nights in comparison to other areas, even squater camps do better than this so called "surburb".

For all my years of residence in Stone Ridge, we have had a great deal of power cut experiences that went from monthly, to the now unpleasing frequency of two weeks, with a lasting duration of 2 days on end.

We are never important enough to be informed so that we can prepare ourselves for the misfortune of no civilisation, but are always left to make do, on our own, with the inconveniences that are attached to power outage.

Excuses will range from ****** cables to fires that affect our circuit stations (if I may), but hardly any improvements on the speed of damage control is app**** or put into action.

My question is, if the municipality is so aware of the common cause of this inconvenient issue, then why does it always take up to two days to replace a cable? Why are there no extra-vigilent security measures taken to conceal these stations and encrypt access to these cables, placing only a handful of electricians at awareness and responsibility for these particular stations so as to better manage the accountability of any ***** activities around the assigned stations?

On Saturday the 20th of May 2017, we had no electricity for 24 hours. No communication, no quick measures of damage control. NOTHING!

Hardly two days later, at 13:12 on Monday the 22 of May 2017, the same thing happened. It is now 18:29 on May 23, a full day later that I type, in the dark, this highly fury-driven review on the services of City of Tshwane NONSENSipality.

It is not only the accentuated coldness of this not-so-friendly winter that breeds my frustration, but the having to bear cold showers and wrinkled clothing.

Another main concern of mine, especially in a complex highly populated with children, is the ability to feed constantly these beings, with no hot water / milk for cereal or anything like that. Their uniforms also need ironing, lunch boxes need to be made.

It is a financially critical time of the month where pay day is 2 days away for some and a week away for others and that means NO MONEY FOR TAKE AWAYS. The groceries that we rely on to carry us through the month are now perishing in our stove-turned refrigerators, yes, even in winter the refrigerators regulate a certain amount of low temperatures needed to sustian the freshness of our food, otherwise if no difference was made, we could easily just switch them the hell off in winter.

Kids have homeworks to do, some return home after 5pm with their parents after hectic N14 traffic congestions and it is already too dark to make any sentenses out from any piece of paper at hand.

This is a total inconvenience that merits no petty excuses from City of Tshwane NONSENSipality, based on the concern of frequency and delayed measures of problem-solving.

You would think living 500 metres away from Stone Ridge Country Estate would put us at an advantage of quick solutions, as estates usually carry a bit more weight around such issues, (like how they always get water trucks at their doorsteps when we experience water outage in the area) but seemingly not even that shadow of residential prominence nudges for better and improved solution speed.

We, (and I boldy stamp that plural on my coming statement due to knowledge of mass -frustrations nudged by this issue) as the residents of Stone Ridge, Monavoni and Heuwelsig feel very unfairly affected by the carelessness around the control of this seemingly pestering and persistent damage.

Enough is enough. City of Tshwane, do something. We do no want anymore electrical field jargon, we want quick solutions.

This is not fair considering we pay for this service.

Your services are in need of improvement. Act!
