Wrong Rates and Charges on My CoJ Account

I have purchased a house in a newly developed area through Central Development - Cosmopolitan Projects (Lion Pride Lifestyle Estate). The house was built, certified by the developer and handed over to me ready for occupation.

It has come to my attention upon moving in that CoJ is still charging the rates tariffs and zoning on the house as a vacant land instead of residential tariffs despite all the occupational certificate being handover to CoJ to amend the tariffs accordingly. I have taken this up with the developer towards resolving this issue, we jointly engaged CoJ on several occasions both on emails and also a visit to the offices in an effort towards getting the account billed accordingly.

The communication we always get is that their systems has been offline- for a while and there is a backlog towards resolving this kind of issues, as for the several email communications that has been sent to CoJ Senior Staff Tania Kruger and Eric Phahlane they are simply getting ignored.

It has been a full year now that I have been in the property and I not in a positing to pay the compounding exorbitant amount of money that they are sending me on their monthly statement while knowing very well that these figures are incorrect. it is very sad to see that they are able to get their contact center to make efforts to call me to demand payment and sent monthly statements while they are unable or unwilling to resolve these incorrect tariffs charged on this account to enable me to settle the account fair and just as I would love to.

I am totally not happy with their modus operandi let alone questioning their will or interest towards resolving this kind of issues not only for me but for a number of residents out there in a similar position. It is very sad and disheartening, as a results the level of governance in this regard is questionable.
