So much for water being a basic human right

<p>Its been a week now and my family is without water from our beloved city of Jhb that cut our water on Tuesday the 19th of July. This kind of treatment would never happen in the townships where water is wasted and owed to the Jhb municipality on a large scale.. But no living in the so called suburban areas puts us to be the ones for this behavior. We have not received a bill in forever not even a warning . and then suddenly we are without water. I feel that this treatment is unfair. All areas should be treated the same. Soweto is not an exception to the rest of us or any other of the townships. Here in Xavier reef in or monde we are no different from the other communities. Needing to get water from neighbors in order to perform basic functions like use the toilet, I will be visiting them tomorrow on the 25/07 but I want sa to know that water is not a basic human right. As much as the bill of rights indicates that it is. What does one say to your child when they ask you is water not a basic human right. </p>
