Ineffective CoJ Municipality ignores Noise Complaints in Jhb Suburb

We have been having a problem with noise disturbance in Greenside. Despite daily complaints to JMPD, Environmental Health Services and Land Use departments, nothing has been done by any of these departments to heel a tavern, operating *******ly as a restaurant.

The matter was raised with 3 executive mayor's, and despite promises to look into matter have to deal with loud music and noisy patrons creating a noise disturbance well into the early hours of the mornings.

Evidence that the venue operates in contravention of its land use restrictions or that it borders a residential property fell on deaf ears or had been ignored by various City of Johannesburg officials.

One get the feeling that errant operators are allowed to flout several Municipality by-laws with the complicity of City of Johannesburg officials doing nothing to bring them to book. Nor has the DA Ward councillor for this region cared to follow-up with City of Johannesburg officials to bring this problem to an end.

After three years of complaints, I am disappointed that City of Johannesburg officials had done absokutely nothing to resolve this matter.
