City of Johannesburg and City Power put their citizen's lives at risk!

What happened: - A power incident occurred early February 2018. - City power installed a temporary power line, hanging above the road from a power-pole onto the balcony of one of our properties. - A permanent power cable was meant to be installed beneath the road.

And now: 3 months later we are still trying to get the City of Johannesburg (City Power) to install the permanent power-line and remove the temporary power-line that was installed.

This temporary power-line is a danger to all who drive, walk or live in the area. Should something knock the line loose it could easily become fatal for any unsuspecting person or even cause a fire that takes out the entire neighbourhood if not more.

A truck could knock it loose. A branch blown from a tree could knock it loose. It is a risk to everyone in the area as well as their properties!

14th March 2018: Called City Power to get the situation Remedied. Advised 21 working days. Ref: **********

4th April 2018: Called City Power to get the situation Remedied. Got put on hold and then the call was ended. I called back. My call was marked as 'closed' - even thought the issue had not been resolved. Call was 'reopened'. A technician was meant to go assess the situation within 2-6 hours. New ref: ********** 699.

11th April 2018: Called City Power to get the situation Remedied as no technician arrived. Spoke to Bongani. Situation was escalated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To this day, nothing has happened and every day that goes by is another day that the civilians of Johannesburg are in danger - is there no one that is willing to do their job to protect those around them!!!
