BILLING MESS AND PRE TERMINATION NOTICES

I received my October Municipal account on the 09 October 2015 with a due date of the 22 October 2015 and a pre-termination notice of R212.00 plus vat included in the account. I queried this and was told that the account was due for payment on the 22nd October, we paid the account on the 30th October, I was not happy with this as like many people in this country only get paid on the 25th of the month and have always paid my municipal account at the end of the month in question. Nevertheless I lodged a query and paid the full amount due.<br> <br> This month I received an account on the 17th November with a due date of 13th November and the pre-termination already included on my account.<br> <br> My question is how many people are suddenly getting charged R212.00 plus vat for an invalid pre-termination notice if their account is up to date. According to the Joburg's own website in the May 2015 Newsletter and I quote:<br> <br> \The City Generates a pre-termination notice when your municipal account has an arrear debt of older than 30 days."<br> <br> My account has never been in arrears.<br> <br> I would like someone from Joburg Municpality to explain why customers who pay their accounts are being penalised."""
