Rental exploration

I have lived in Manenberg for more than 50 years and now the city wants to charge me R6000 rent per month based on our household income, bearing in mind that I am unemployed. And for those who don't know that Manenberg is a area that is ravaged by violence, gangsterism and gun fights every other day. The council don't maintain these units and I have less than a year to find a new residence or face eviction. Since this flat has been transferred onto my name and in less than 6 months I am almost R40 000 in arrears cos I can't afford the rent surcharge that the city is imposing on me. It looks like the City doesn't want to see you flourish or get ahead in life
