Beware holiday makers to Cape Town - water restrictions still in force
We are on holiday in Cape Town. For the past 2 days we have had no water. We have called out 2 plumbers - they have both confirmed that an electronic device attached by the municipality to the water metre to control water supply during water restrictions is still in force and is showing "Closed". Despite several calls to CoCT by the home owner and ourselves there have been no change in our circumstances. When deciding to holiday in Cape Town we were under the impression that the water restrictions had been lifted.

Residents are to report water meter faults to the Water and Sanitation Department on the available channels for intervention. When the meter reads as closed, the daily allocation has bene used. There are various reasons why metering is in place.
