Unhappy Chery customer
On the 21st of December 2023 we bought a brand-new Chery Tigo 4 Pro, 28km on the clock when we drove out of Chery Cape Gate. On 23rd of December we went on holiday, we filled up the tank as we arrived at our destination, we saw the light-yellow stain under the petrol cap which doesn’t wipe off, we immediately sent pictures of the stain to our dealer. He told us not to do anything (polish) on the stain and as soon as we get back from holiday, we must bring the car in. we took the car on Monday 8th of January 2024, with a much darker stain, they never experienced such problem. The salesman took us to 2 different paint/bodywork professionals- both said they never have seen anything like this, they buffed and polished the area, but the stain is till there, the petrol stained the BRAND NEW car through the clearcoat and through the paint of the car… PETROL DOESN’T STAIN it leaves an oily mark that is washable! The paint professional told us it must be a factory defect which we also believe. The dealer told us he will let the panel be buffed and respray it (which now suddenly he doesn’t want to help us with anymore it’s our problem NOT COOL!!!), but who will anyways be happy with bodywork on a brand-new car you pay a lot of money for? The service department sent pictures through to Chery SA, Chery SA forwarded it to China, China apparently says its HUMAN ERROR…***??Oh and we may not see the mail from China…suspicious WHY NOT we pay for that car! Yes, its human error because they over filled the car which happens every day at every fuel station, do that cars stain? NO!!! No other white or any other colour car has a big yellow stain that looks like rust coming through the paint on it. The car doesn’t even yet have registration plates, we are verry disappointed in the service, this is not just about us, but Chery is still building their name. Keep you customers happy and they will keep your name happy.
