Repeated Defects, Warranty Delays and Poor After‑Sales Support

I hereby lodge a formal complaint regarding my Jaecoo vehicle, purchased approximately 15 months ago, due to repeated mechanical defects and unreasonable delays in the warranty resolution process. At delivery, the vehicle already required repairs to damaged charging ports. Thereafter, the vehicle developed a sump oil leak, and most recently suffered a turbo failure. These defects have occurred within a short ownership period and raise serious concerns regarding the vehicle’s quality and durability. On 25 March, the vehicle was booked in at Cherry Sandton for a scheduled service, where I was informed that the turbo requires replacement, subject to warranty approval. Approval was delayed despite the full service history being available, and I was advised that no courtesy vehicles were available, leaving me without reliable transport and incurring additional personal costs. Attempts to lodge and follow up on the complaint through published email and WhatsApp channels were unsuccessful, resulting in further delays and poor communication. In terms of Sections 55 and 56 of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), consumers are entitled to goods that are of good quality, free of defects, and reasonably durable, as well as appropriate remedies where these standards are not met. Given the repeated defects experienced, these standards have not been met
