Chery South Africa lack of Customer Service.
Dear Sirs,
I am writing to formally escalate a new and serious issue arising from the handling of my vehicle, a Chery Tiggo 4 Pro
As you are aware from the extensive correspondence below, I have already experienced significant delays and process failures regarding my rust repair claim since October 2025. Despite this, I was eventually instructed to take my vehicle to Margate Auto Refinishers, Marburg.
Timeline of recent events:
* 21 January 2026 – The dealership contacted me and confirmed I could bring the vehicle in. * 23 January 2026 – I delivered the vehicle to the dealership. * 10 February 2026 – I was informed the vehicle was ready for collection.
Upon collection on 10 February, I was not immediately aware of any damage. However, shortly after leaving the premises and stopping to refuel, I noticed damage to the bottom left corner of the windscreen (near the licence disc area).
I immediately contacted the workshop and returned to the premises within an hour of leaving. The matter was discussed with the floor manager, who confirmed that inspection photographs are taken when vehicles are received. I was subsequently informed that no such windscreen damage appeared in the intake photographs.
This confirms that the damage occurred while the vehicle was in the custody and control of the dealership.
The floor manager apologised and assured me that the matter would be rectified.
That was on 10 February 2026.
Today is 19 March 2026
Despite numerous follow-ups and messages, I have received no confirmation of when or how this damage will be repaired. No timeline. No booking. No written acknowledgment. No resolution.
This is unacceptable.
My vehicle was returned to me in a damaged condition. The workshop has effectively acknowledged that the damage did not exist prior to intake. I am still waiting for feedback.
The handling of both the rust claim and now this additional damage reflects extremely poorly on Chery SA’s quality control and customer care processes.
CHERY South Africa Head Office According to our telephone conversation (19 March 2026 - 16:30), you (***) are going to hand over my matter to someone else. According to you, this will take 8 working hours. I have been emailing since February. I phoned today to speak to someone. I am not getting anywhere with Chery. Now, the matter will be handed over? So, exactly what have you done in this matter? How have you tried to resolve this matter?
*** - Her customer service - the manner in which she speaks to me is unacceptable.
I have been waiting since February for someone to sort this matter out. It is absolutely ridiculous.
How many more emails must I send? Is someone actually working on this matter? What is happening? What is the update?
As I said, no one can complain about Chery's customer service/care, because it does not exist.
I expect urgent intervention from Head Office.
