Chery SA - Omoda Brynston Bad Service and Dissatisfactions

Omoda Bryanston Service Dissatisfaction I am having a very frustrating experience with Omoda Bryanston – Johannesburg. I purchased my Omoda in August 2024, exactly 12 months ago. In July 2025, I took the car for its first service at Omoda Bryanston, where I was informed that everything was in good condition. However, just a month later, my car would not start. It was towed back to Omoda Bryanston, and after inspection I was told that the battery was dead and needed replacement.

When I asked for the battery details and specifications, I discovered that it was not the original battery that came with the car. The dealership confirmed that it was not the original battery and further stated that the warranty would not cover the replacement. This raises serious concerns: how could a brand-new car already have an old, non-original battery, and how is this only uncovered a month after a service?

My car has been at Omoda Bryanston since Thursday. After I contacted Chery Edenvale, where I bought the vehicle, Bryanston then indicated they would contact the Innovation Group on Monday to submit a claim for the battery. Despite this, I remain very dissatisfied with how the matter is being handled and I need clarity on who at Bryanston replaced my original battery with an old one. On top of that I needed to make means to move around because they won’t give me a courtesy car.

They replaced the battery on Monday and replaced it with Enertec and not Willard as I requested since it was the original battery that was on the car. They claimed R4433.00 to replace the battery with something I did not request!
