Chery resale value PATHETIC
I bought a Chery Tiggo 4 two years ago for R310 000. I paid a R90 000 deposit. I now went in to upgrade to a Tiggo 7 but to my shock this car was evaluated by Chery Umhlanga at R130 000 less than what i paid for it. This car had depreciated by R130 000 in 2 years. I've tried negotiating with them to come to some sort of settlement as i now owe the bank more than what Chery want to trade the car in as, but to no avail. If this "NEW BRAND" cannot hold it's value at it's own dealership it says a lot. I then evaluated the car with We Buy Cars and they offered me R20 000 more than Chery. I called the salesman and expressed my frustration. Chery made a profit off me from this car that i bought from them initially, they now want to make a bigger profit from buying this car back from me and make a profit again from selling me a new car. This brand has not even properly established themselves in the SA market and they have become ************* and their cars don't hold any value. I shudder to think what this car would be worth in another 4 years. To Chery, at least buy your own product back at a decent rate but then again it shows the confidence you have in your product.
